 | Jury meetings herald next stage
in Holcim Awards August 20, 2008 - The results of the Holcim Awards competition have
moved a step closer following the jury meetings held in five regions of the
world. From almost 2,000 submissions out of approximately 5,000 competition
entries that met the formal requirements, each jury panel selected projects
which meet the “target issues” for sustainable construction in the most
compelling way.

The Holcim Awards is an international competition of the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction. The competition celebrates innovative, future-oriented and tangible sustainable construction projects from around the globe and provides prize money of USD 2 million per three-year competition cycle.
An objective of the Holcim Awards is to progressively generate a worldwide community of recognized practitioners of excellence in sustainable construction.
The Holcim Awards recognize any contribution to sustainable construction – irrespective of scale – in architecture, landscape and urban design, civil and mechanical engineering and related disciplines.
Entries in the current Holcim Awards competition closed on February 29, 2008. Independent regional juries evaluated submissions in June-July 2008, and results of will be announced at five regional Awards ceremonies in September-November 2008.
